Traer Historical Museum
The purpose of the Traer Historical Museum is to collect, preserve and display
items of historical and cultural interest which will tell the story of Traer
and northern Tama County from settlement to the present.
Museum Membership
You can become a member of the Traer Historical Museum for as little as $5.00.
Membership dues of $10.00, $25.00, $50.00, $100.00
or other amounts would also be sincerely appreciated.

In Commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the U.S. Civil War (April 12, 1861 - April 9, 1865) the Traer Historical Museum arranged for "The Fiery Trial: "Iowa and the Civil War," the newest "History on the Move" traveling exhibit from the State Historical Society of Iowa, to visit Traer from April 20-23, 2012.
Please visit the Museum's collection of military memorabilia, including a Civil War 3 inch ordnance rifle. We will continue to Celebrate our Iowa heroes throughout the coming years.
