Recreation



The Traer area offers a wide variety of recreational activities for everyone.  At one of the five local parks, outdoor enthusiasts can grill burgers, camp for the weekend, swim, try their skills at geocaching, play horseshoes, or just relax and watch butterflies flitting from flower to flower.   Weekends are always busy at the Traer Golf and Country Club whether it's because of a tournament or a high school player searching for the all-elusive hole-in-one. 
Baseball, softball, volleyball, snowmobiling, and hot-air ballooning keep others entertained year round.  And for those that prefer indoor activities, bowling and pool leagues form in the fall season.  While some might debate whether shopping is recreational, they'd surely agree that the knitting, stained glass and scrapbooking classes are fun.
